Abott Finkel (President & CEO) has had a working relationship with Bestek for over Ten years. After Abott Audio merged with Bestek in 2015 he served as the Executive Vice President of the Company. Abott moved into the position of President & CEO in 2016, after the retirement of Van Allen Rice. In addition to his duties running Bestek, Abott is also a Project Manager and can occasionally be found behind a sound board at events.
Kevin O’Brien (General Manager) has been with Bestek for more than 20 years. He began with the company working as a lighting shop technician and has served in several positions over the years including Shop Foreman, Production Manager, and VP of Production. As a Project Manager, Kevin can be found managing a wide range of events in several cities across the Country. He is an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician. He is a member of the PLASA Technical Standards Electrical Power Working Group as well as The International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).
Bill Magod (VP of Sales) comes to Bestek this year as a new Project Manager after having a relationship with both Bestek and Abott Audio for over 10 years. Working in Entertainment since 1984, Bill brings a variety of entertainment experience to the Company, including Sound reinforcement, mixing, and project management in festivals, and Corporate events. Bill has a BS in Speech (with a minor in technical theatre) from Emerson College, and MBA from Boston University.
William Haviland (Project Manager) has been with Bestek for over 20 years. He serves as the primary Project Manager and point of Contact with Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. He has a great working relationship with our partners at Evelyn Hill Inc. and works hard to make your event in such a historic place memorable.
Mike Lastella (Project Manager) works directly with all of our Clients at Weylin, in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. Prior to becoming the Venues Project Manager he served as Weylin’s Technical Director. He has worked with Bestek since 2015.
